Please send information about - yourself - or - a veteran you know and admire to 1000vetsalute@peprallyusa.com so that we may include you, him or her.

OOHRAH! to Marine Vet of Iraqi Freedom.

PeprallyUSA.com salutes America's WWII Veterans.

"My father, James Ashby, (above) is truly a proud old vet. He actually served twice with the US Army. He enlisted and served as an  MP  received an honorable discharge and then re enlisted on D day as infantry. He spent most of that tour in Europe and fought at Anzio where he was wounded and left on the beach for dead. Luckily he was rescued by an observant rescurer who saw one of his fingers move, and he was taken to a field hospital to receive treatment and recover. While he was in the field hospital it came under enemy fire and a mortor exploded near enough to him to blow both of his ear drums thus condeming him to a world of lost hearing.
He has always been very active in veteran affairs and activities and is a past commander of the Stanley Pennock Post in Solvay. He is now 88 years young and currently resides at Van Duyn Home and Hospital in Syracuse. His mind is sharp and he would love to hear from other vets or their families. His address is James Ashby,  Room 710 N., 5075 W. Seneca Turnpike,  Syracuse, NY 13215"--J. Murphy

Special Forces vet remembers seeing his daughter for the first time

Michael W. Jefferson, Command Sergeant Major, US Army Special Forces, now retired and living in El Paso, Texas sent in this photo, and wrote: This is a photo of me holding my daughter, Stevie, for the first time after parachuting into Fort Bragg, North Carolina, upon my return from Central America in 1985. Stevie was born while I was gone. She was, and still is, the most precious thing in my life. She endured many separations during the next 13 years as I continued to deploy around the world and each time I saw her when I came home, (it) was very special for me. At my retirement in 1998, she sang the song "Hero," for me, so I guess she forgave me for not being there when she was born.
