"May God Bless you for your selflessness! My family and I are praying for
your safety and your quick return home. Thank you for your dedication to our
country and for keeping my family safe. You are giving more than you know and we
thank you.
No amount of words can say how much we appreciate all you are doing. There will
never be a way to repay you."--The Doherty's, Ennis, Tx 75119 "I wanted to let all of the military who are fighting in Iraq, the ones here who are support for the war and the families of those in the battle that I greatly appreciate the effort, the resolve and the sacrifice you all are making for what our country stands for... freedom.
My prayers are with you daily, and I applaud the great deal of respect and
compassion that has been shown to the civilian people who have so long suffered
under a tyranical regime.
While the US may stand virtually alone in this fight, we have a tradition of
standing up for right even if it isn't popular.
Blessings and safe passage to you all until you are once again on home soil.--Kathy C, San Antonio, TX 78249
Blood and War Protestors Thurs. Mar. 27, 2003.I got up this morning and turned on the Fox news channel to get an update on the war in Iraq. I was greeted by a story about the anti-war activists "die-in" in New York and was struck once again by how silly and useless these demonstration are. The time, effort, and money spent on these pointless endeavors could be used so much more productively.
Today, the Oklahoma Blood Institute and Reasor's Grocery Stores are sponsoring a blood drive in Tulsa to support our troops. Although I have been planning this week to drive over and donate blood, the wind is blowing really hard here. I hate wind and my resolve to go was beginning to waiver. I told myself that there will be plenty of donors and a pint of my blood wouldn't be missed. It would be so much easier for me to sit on my deck and drink coffee, look at the greening of our pasture and the wild flowers in my yard. Then I thought about our troops in Iraq. The wind and sand and heat, danger and death haven't weakened their resolve or turned them from their mission. They are dying in Iraq to assure that I have the freedom to enjoy my life,-- and to free a people who can only look forward to days like I have, simply because I was born in the United States of America. The blood that I donate might save the life of one of these valiant soldiers or an Iraqi child. It is little enough to ask from someone who has always enjoyed the freedom and fullness of life in our country.
The above mentioned protestors should get on their hands and knees and thank God for their blessings, the U.S. Military for their security so that when they are lying in the streets of New York that they only have to play dead. Sincerely, Mary Burnett, A PROUD Texan in Tulsa
